We attended the 3rd Annual Burger Brawl this past Sunday at 7th & Catharine outside of the Fleisher Art Memorial, and let’s just say we’ve never seen so many delicious sliders. Fat Jack’s BBQ from the Northeast won first place in this fundraiser for Philadelphia schools with their “thick juicy burger made with Angus chuck brisket and rib-eye seasoned with a special blend of seasonings and topped with homemade BBQ sauce, cheddar jack cheese 18-hour hickory smoked Texas beef brisket, Carolina pulled pork, sauteed onions, Kentucky slaw, Memphis dry rub and a dill pickle on top.”
Ok, take a deep breath and let all of that soak in. The slider itself was a mouthful, so we can’t imagine what the actual “Fat Jack’s Ultimate Memphis Mauler Burger” is like in person. I’m already intimidated.
Other popular burgers came from city favorites such as a Peanut Butter/Jelly/Bacon delight from Lucky’s Last Chance, London Grill’s “Lancaster County ground black angus beef on a toasted english muffin with house made boursin cheese and caramelized onions”and a Bahn Mi Burger from Silk City. One thing was for certain – not only were you helping out a great, local cause (over $80,000 was raised!) but you were also bound to leave in a serious burger-coma.
